Tensions have erupted within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Hohoe as the party’s Constituency Organizer, Mr. Wodey Samuel, forcibly locked up the office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in protest of what he described as unfair treatment.
Mr. Wodey claims he was the rightful choice to serve as the NADMO Municipal Director, but the role was instead handed to Mr. Raphael Kumaga, the Deputy Constituency Organizer.
According to him, until this “anomaly” is corrected, the office will remain locked, effectively stalling operations in the municipality.
The protest has already begun to disrupt public service delivery, with NADMO staff unable to report to work.
The Municipal Chief Executive has yet to comment on the situation.
Mr. Wodey insists the leadership snub undermines fairness within the party, especially considering his contributions and expectations for the role.
He has vowed to maintain the office closure until the issue is resolved, calling for urgent intervention to restore peace and functionality to the office.
However, Hohoe NDC Constituency Chairman Mr. Newton Darkey has condemned the action, describing it as unjustified and disruptive.
He explained that Mr. Wodey had earlier declined the NADMO position when it was offered to him and rather opted for a different role. After failing to secure that position, Mr. Wodey reportedly attempted to return to claim the role he initially rejected.
Mr. Darkey noted that the position is now filled, and Mr. Kumaga is currently serving as the Municipal NADMO Director.
