In a major operation led by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), 219 suspected human traffickers were arrested today, April 17, 2025, at ISAK Estate in Oyarifa.
According to Abdul Bashiru Dapilah, Acting Executive Director of EOCO, the suspects lured their victims into Ghana under the pretense of offering them lucrative job opportunities.
However, upon arrival, the victims were held hostage and forced into cybercrime activities.
Meanwhile, Abdul Bashiru Dapilah, Acting Executive Director of EOCO, revealed that ongoing investigations have uncovered additional cases involving both Ghanaians and Nigerians who were lured through a fraudulent recruitment scheme linked to Q-Net.
