Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation Designate, has promised a tax exemption on imports of sports equipment to support the development of sports in Ghana.
This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on athletes, schools, and registered clubs, facilitating access to quality sports equipment. The proposed tax exemption is expected to encompass a range of sports equipment, including capital equipment, raw materials, spare parts, and accessories.
“I will push for some level of tax exemption for the importation of sports equipment, either directly by athletes, schools, or registered clubs,” he stated during his vetting.
