Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has denied any involvement in the attack on Awutu Senya East MP, Hawa Koomson, during the Ablekuma North rerun.
Speaking in an interview on Joy News, Gbande said he is ready to take legal action against those accusing him of orchestrating the violence.
“I will sue those claiming I masterminded the attack on Hawa Koomson,” he stated.
He described the allegations as baseless and politically motivated attempts to tarnish his image.
“How would you believe such gossips as literates? I am waiting on Hawa Koomson herself to speak on it,” he added.
Gbande insists the claims are false and said he would not allow misinformation to go unchallenged.
The minority accused the two NDC figures of undermining the integrity of the electoral process.
The caucus also called on security agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The accusations have since drawn responses from both individuals, particularly Mustapha Gbande, who has publicly denied the allegations.
