The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has issued a warning to individuals engaged in the local drug trade following the arrest of three suspected members of a major trafficking syndicate in the Eastern Region.
The suspects were apprehended in Atimpoku after weeks of intelligence gathering and coordinated surveillance efforts.
Large quantities of suspected narcotics and drug processing equipment were retrieved during the operation, which aimed to dismantle a network believed to be operating inter-regionally.
Speaking on Prime News on ABC News GH, Mr. Francis Amoah, Head of Communications and Media Relations at NACOC, emphasized the Commission’s resolve to tackle drug trafficking at all levels.
“These are people who are engaged in drug trade on the local level. We’ve been investigating this case for some time now,” he said. Mr. Amoah further warned, “It’s only a matter of time to deal with you,” in a message directed at others involved in similar illicit activities.
He also appealed to drug addicts seeking rehabilitation or citizens with information on drug-related crimes to use NACOC’s toll-free hotline, 0800307307.
“Help is available when you’re ready,” he stated, highlighting the Commission’s dual approach of enforcement and support.
