The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced the outcome of the filing of nominations for the 2024 presidential elections.
Following the examination of the nomination forms submitted between September 9 and September 13, 2024, it was revealed that several prominent candidates, including Janet Nabla, flagbearer of the People’s National Party (PNP), and independent aspirant Dr. Sam Ankrah, have been disqualified.
The Commission confirmed that only 13 candidates successfully passed the nomination process, igniting widespread commentary and disappointment among supporters of the disqualified candidates.
The disqualifications have raised questions about the fairness and transparency of the nomination process, with many expressing concern over the exclusion of strong contenders.
The announcement has left political analysts and the public alike speculating about the implications for the upcoming election and the impact on voter sentiment as Ghana prepares for a pivotal moment in its democratic journey.
