The Kennedy Agyapong campaign team has raised concerns over what it describes as unfair treatment within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following the live streaming of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s nomination filing on the party’s official Facebook page.
George Ayisi, a member of the campaign team, said the move appeared to be a deliberate attempt to project one candidate above the others, contrary to the party’s objective of uniting after the flagbearership contest.
“It’s not fair, and we need to make a statement on that.”
Speaking on Prime News on ABC News GH, Mr. Ayisi pointed out that all aspirants had filed their nomination forms under the same conditions, paying GHC5,000 each.
He, however, questioned why the party machinery seemed to give prominence to Dr. Bawumia over other contenders.
“It seems there is an intentional attempt for putting one candidate,” he stressed, adding that such bias risked undermining fairness in the internal race.
“It’s not good for party unity,” he said.
