The Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has condemned the fatal stabbing of a student at Kinbu Senior High School, calling the act tragic and senseless.
In a statement issued on Friday, she expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2025, and led to the death of 15-year-old first-year student Addib Alhassan.
The stabbing reportedly followed a heated argument between the victim and a classmate.
“I strongly condemn this act of violence and I will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to ensure that thorough investigations are swiftly done and that justice is served,” Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings said.
She emphasized that schools must remain safe spaces for learning and urged a reassessment of safety protocols across educational institutions.
“This tragedy must be a wake-up call for all stakeholders in the education and security sectors to prevent such incidents from recurring,” she added.
The MP extended her condolences to the bereaved family and the Kinbu SHS community, pledging to work with the Ghana Education Service and school authorities to enhance safety and mental health support in schools within her constituency.
The Ghana Police Service has yet to provide full details on the incident, but initial reports indicate that the victim was rushed from Adabraka Polyclinic to Ridge Hospital due to the severity of his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
