The Korle-Bu chapter of the Ghana Federation of Allied Health Professionals has announced that its members will halt Outpatient Department (OPD) Services starting Friday, August 2.
This decision comes in response to the hospital board’s failure to appoint a director of Allied Health, a request that has been made by the federation for an extended period.
Dr. Issahaku Shiraz, president of the federation, addressed the issue during a press conference today, explaining that the cessation of OPD services is a strategic move to underscore the urgency of their demands.
“Our members will gradually stop providing services to draw attention to this critical issue,” Dr. Shiraz stated, highlighting the frustration within the federation over the board’s inaction.
Should the hospital board fail to address the federation’s concerns by August 7, a nationwide strike will be initiated, Korle-Bu Allied Health Professionals indicated.
