The NDC’s National Deputy Director of Elections, Mahdi Jibril has expressed firm confidence in the party’s chances of winning the ongoing Kpandai Parliamentary election petition, adding that it is why they have already begun preparing for the rerun.
His remarks come as the NPP’s incumbent Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Mathew Nyindam, filed an application at the Supreme Court seeking to overturn a High Court ruling that nullified his 2024 parliamentary election victory.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Mante on ABC In The Morning, Mr. Jibril explained that the NDC’s readiness for the Kpandai Parliamentary rerun is already underway because they strongly believe the court’s final decision will favour them.
“We believe that we will win the case; that’s why we have started preparing for the elections,” he emphasised, describing his party’s early mobilisation as a reflection of both confidence and readiness.
According to the Deputy Director of Elections for the NDC, they are not looking forward just to add up to the numbers in parliament but to make sure the people of Kpandai are legally represented.
With the Supreme Court scheduled to hear the critical jurisdictional matter on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Supreme Court’s ruling will determine whether the constituency returns to the polls or retains its sitting MP.
