Three armed robbery suspects were shot dead in a gun battle with police at Kpone in the Tema Industrial Area on July 21, 2025.
The incident followed a distress call reporting a break-in by ten armed men at a warehouse, prompting a swift response from a police patrol team.
In a statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police Command, officers engaged the robbers in a fierce exchange of gunfire, leading to the fatalities.
Several of the remaining suspects, some believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, managed to escape the scene.

A Bruni Mod foreign pistol, a locally manufactured double-barrelled pistol loaded with two rounds of ammunition, and 11 live BB rounds were retrieved from the suspects.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for identification and autopsy, while police continue investigations to apprehend those who fled.
