President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm Eid ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims across the country, urging Ghanaians to prioritise peace, unity, and mutual respect as the nation celebrates the occasion.

In a message delivered on Friday, March 20, the President described Ghana as a model of peaceful coexistence, where people of different faiths and backgrounds continue to live together in harmony.

“Ghana continues to be a shining example of peaceful coexistence, as we participate in each other’s ceremonies, we coexist as one people,” he said.

President Mahama stressed the need to preserve this unity, describing it as a valuable national asset that must not be taken for granted.

“This harmony is a precious gift, and we must protect it. Let us reject anything that divides us,” he added.

He also reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring that development is equitably distributed across the country, while emphasising the importance of collaboration between the state and citizens in achieving national progress.

“We keep making sure development reaches every part of the country. The government can’t do it alone; we need a partnership,” he stated.

Touching on global affairs, particularly the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the President called for divine intervention to bring an end to the violence and restore peace.

“May Allah touch the Trump and Middle East leaders to ensure this war comes to an end,” he said.

President Mahama’s message concluded with a call for reflection, unity, and a renewed commitment to peace as Muslims mark Eid ul-Fitr.
