Members of the Locked-up Investment Holders Forum will continue their picketing at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
The group, which advocates for the release of funds locked up in financial institutions licensed by the Bank of Ghana but now insolvent, is intensifying its efforts to demand action.
According to a statement issued by the Forum’s convener, Dr. Adu A. Antwi, FCA, Esq., on August 6, members will gather at the premises of NDK at 9 a.m. and proceed to the Ministry of Finance, where they plan to demonstrate until 12 noon.
The Forum has been actively seeking the government’s intervention to ensure that depositors retrieve their funds, many of which have been inaccessible for extended periods due to the collapse of several financial institutions.
Dr. Antwi emphasized the urgency of their demands, stating, “We are determined to keep the pressure on until we see concrete steps taken by the authorities to address the plight of the affected depositors.”
