Deputy Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kokuro Asiedu, has dismissed calls for the resignation of the party’s national executives following the NPP’s defeat in the Akwatia by-election.
Speaking on ABC in the morning, Mr. Asiedu said while the loss is painful, it does not justify removing the current leadership.
According to him, the party is in a rebuilding phase and the executives are already putting measures in place to strengthen the NPP ahead of its January presidential primaries.
He stressed that the focus should be on restructuring and uniting the party rather than demanding resignations.
Mr. Asiedu further appealed to NPP supporters to exercise patience and be measured in their demands.
“The party is in a rebuilding face, and the executives are putting in place measures to rebuild the party, including its January presidential primaries,” he noted, urging members to rally behind the leadership to restore the party’s strength.
