President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Ms. Justina Nelson as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF) following the removal of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng from the position.
The revocation of Mr. Koranteng’s appointment was conveyed in a letter dated January 13, 2025, signed by the Secretary to the President, Mr. Callistus Mahama.
Effective immediately, this decision paves the way for Nelson’s interim leadership of the MIIF.
According to a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, acting spokesperson to the President, Nelson is a seasoned banker with over 20 years of experience, currently serving as a Group Head at Zenith Bank (Ghana), where she oversees the energy and commercial banking sectors.
Nelson brings a strong academic and professional background to her new role. She holds a Master of Law degree in Corporate and Commercial Law, an MBA in Marketing, and a Bachelor of Law degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Her extensive qualifications and expertise in financial management are expected to bolster the operations of the MIIF during her tenure as acting CEO.
