President John Dramani Mahama has nominated eight distinguished individuals to serve as Ghana’s new Ambassadors and High Commissioners to various countries.
This follows extensive consultations with the Council of State.
The appointments are part of the government’s renewed efforts to enhance Ghana’s global diplomatic engagements and foster stronger bilateral relations.
A formal communication issued by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, detailed the nominees and their respective destinations.
The list includes Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah (Namibia), Kojo Choi (South Korea), Dr. Kwame Ampofo (Hungary), Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey (Italy), Magnus Kofi Amoatey (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Kenneth Akibate (Burkina Faso), Said Saleh Sinare (Saudi Arabia), and Paul Evans Aidoo (Kenya).
In a related development, President Mahama has also directed a change in Ghana’s diplomatic representation to the Vatican City State.
Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow will now take over from Mrs. Satirich Dorcas Ocran as the Ambassador-designate to the Vatican.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to initiate the necessary procedures to formalize these appointments and prepare the nominees for their respective missions.
