Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been granted bail to the tune of GHS500,000 with two sureties, following his recent arrest in connection with an ongoing financial misconduct investigation.
Jumah was transferred to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Accra after being picked up by police on Sunday, June 29, while celebrating his birthday at a private residence in Kumasi.
His arrest is tied to allegations of financial impropriety during his tenure at GIHOC, including unauthorised asset sales and questionable vehicle acquisitions.
Jumah was initially detained at the Ashanti Regional Police Command before being moved to Accra for further interrogation.
The development follows an earlier security operation on May 15, aimed at retrieving state-owned vehicles believed to be in his possession, though he was absent from his residence at the time.
