Medeama Sporting Club has announced the appointment of Ibrahim Tanko as the club’s new head coach, effective on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Tanko joins Medeama from Accra Lions, where he held dual roles as coach and technical advisor. A former Ghana international, Tanko brings extensive coaching experience garnered from domestic and international stints.
His coaching credentials include UEFA License A certification and experience in Japan’s J-League, the Bundesliga, and Cameroon’s national team, where he served as assistant coach. Tanko has also worked with Ghana’s Black Meteors and Black Galaxies.
Tanko succeeds Augustine Evans Adotey, who reverts to his role as technical director. Tanko’s first competitive match in charge of Medeama is scheduled for Sunday, February 3, 2025, against Legon Cities at the TnA Stadium.
