Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has passionately called on farmers to register their farms on the GHAAP Farmers App to benefit from key government initiatives.
Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, 1st October, 2024, he emphasized the importance of registration, explaining, “Go and register your farms, so you can benefit from government’s policies.”
He assured them that registering would ensure they gain access to much-needed support such as food, fertilizers, and other resources, adding that “there is no politics in this.”
Dr. Acheampong also shared that within just four months, over 800,000 farmers have already registered on the app.
The Ministry, he noted, has equipped all 2,700 agricultural extension officers with Samsung A9 tablets, each valued at GH¢4,000, to facilitate this digital registration process.
“Each has been tasked to register at least 12 farmers in a day,” he explained, further encouraging more farmers to take interest in going digital.
The minister highlighted the broader goal of this initiative, which is to ensure accountability and efficient allocation of resources.
By registering, farmers help the ministry track investments and ensure that government support reaches the right hands.
He urged farmers across the country to embrace this digital platform for their long-term benefit.
