The Ministry of National Security has firmly denied allegations of its involvement in the alleged abduction of Sylvia Baah, the Airport Services Manager of Emirates Airlines at Kotoka International Airport.
Responding to claims published by the Herald Newspaper, the Ministry issued a statement on Monday, November 25, 2024, refuting any connection between its officers, the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), and the incident. It expressed concern over the publication, urging the public to treat the allegations with scepticism.
According to the statement, the Ministry has launched its own investigation into the case and assured that any individuals found culpable will face the full force of the law.
This follows confirmation from the Ghana Police Service that Baah, who was allegedly taken near her residence in Accra on Thursday, November 21, had been successfully rescued and reunited with her family on Saturday, November 23. Police have indicated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to upholding national security and lawful conduct, emphasizing its disapproval of the publication’s claims.
It called on media outlets to exercise caution and verify their reports to avoid public misinformation.
Meanwhile, authorities have assured Ghanaians that the investigation into Baah’s abduction remains active, with a focus on delivering justice and ensuring public safety.
