Dr. Donald Agumenu, a governance expert, has expressed confidence that the incoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has the potential to achieve key thematic goals, citing the framework in place and lessons learned from the past.
Speaking on ABC In the Morning, Dr. Agumenu emphasized, “The NDC government has a lot at stake, and I believe that with the lessons learned so far, with the framework in place, with our connective support, we should be able to actualize some thematic issues.”
He noted the importance of focused governance and strategic planning to address critical national challenges.
Dr. Agumenu also underscored the power of citizen participation in today’s digital age.
“Agreement is anchored on specific outcomes, and no amount of propaganda can change the minds of the people,” he stated.
He further pointed out the growing influence of citizen journalism, highlighting how digital media enables citizens to monitor and evaluate government projects effectively.
“At this moment, citizen journalism is at the top,” he remarked, reflecting on the growing role of technology in holding leaders accountable.
The comments come in the wake of the confirmation of John Dramani Mahama’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, where he won a landslide victory with 6,328,397 votes (56.55%) over Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 4,657,304 votes (41.61%).
