The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to hold the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, and other security leaders accountable for any loss of lives during the 2024 general elections.
The party has urged the IGP and relevant security agencies to strengthen measures to protect lives during the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, stressed the importance of preventing any casualties during the electoral process.
“… take charge of a well crafted scheme that has been designed by the NPP to rig the upcoming elections particularly in the Ashanti Region. Through ballot staffing, swapping of ballot boxes, swapping of pink sheets and other clandestine activities, starting with the special voting exercise scheduled for December 2nd this year.”
He further added that the party will draw the official attention of Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) and external developmental partners.
