The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has revealed that supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are demonstrating strong preferences for who they want the opposing party to present as flagbearer ahead of the 2028 elections.
According to him, a significant number of NDC supporters would prefer the NPP to elect former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their candidate, while NPP supporters are rooting for the NDC to select either the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as “Mosquito,” or the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.
“A key phenomenal trend we observed is that the NDC people prefer NPP to elect Bawumia and the NPP people prefer NDC to elect Mosquito or Haruna Iddrisu,” Mussa Dankwah said in an interview on JoyNews on Sunday, September 21.
The development, he noted, adds a new dimension to the ongoing discussions about who the two leading political parties may eventually put forward in the next presidential race.
