The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, has assured Ghanaians that the upcoming December elections will be conducted with utmost transparency.
Appearing before Parliament on Friday, July 19, Mrs. Mensa emphasized that transparency is the cornerstone of the EC’s operations. “From the registration to the declaration, our processes are embedded with one key ingredient, and that is transparency, transparency, transparency.
As such, we will continue to operate in the spirit of transparency, fairness, and integrity as embedded in our motto,” she affirmed. She reiterated that all necessary measures are being put in place to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
Mrs. Mensa’s parliamentary address comes at a time of heightened scrutiny and public interest in the electoral process, with various stakeholders calling for accountability and transparency.
While assuring the public of the EC’s exhaustive preparations, Mrs. Mensa noted that security concerns fall under the purview of other institutions.
She highlighted the introduction of rigorous data collection methods to enhance the commission’s activities.
Her appearance in Parliament was prompted by requests from members seeking clarity on the EC’s readiness for the upcoming polls.
