Public Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, has issued a firm rebuttal to Vision FC Technical Director Annor Walker, who confidently predicted that his team would overpower the Phobians in the opening minutes of their upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter.
The two sides will face off on Sunday, April 13, at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema, in what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested Week 27 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Annor Walker stirred controversy earlier this week when he boldly claimed that Vision FC would overwhelm Hearts of Oak within the first half-hour of the match.
“The message to the fans is that they should come early. If you don’t come early, you won’t witness the beautiful goals we will score to beat Hearts. We will finish the game in the first 25 minutes before we control the game with our ‘tiki taka’ style of play,” Walker declared.
However, Hearts of Oak’s PRO, Opare Addo, was quick to dismiss the comments, insisting that his team is not bothered by such bold predictions and remains focused on delivering a solid performance on the pitch.
“No team can intimidate Hearts of Oak,” Addo said in an interview with Asempa FM.
“Within the 90 minutes, we will do all the talking on the pitch and everyone will get to know what we are.”
With Hearts of Oak currently fourth on the table with 40 points, the Phobians are determined to stay in the title race. Meanwhile, Vision FC, sitting 13th with 28 points, are fighting to climb away from the relegation zone.
Sunday’s showdown is expected to be intense, with Walker’s pre-match remarks adding extra spice to an already crucial contest for both sides.
