The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced new fees for Ghana Card registration, replacement, and record updates, sparking mixed reactions from citizens.

In a notice published on the NIA’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the authority detailed the revised costs for accessing key identity services.

Under the new pricing structure:

• First-time registration will now cost GHC310.00
• Card replacement will require GHC420.00
• Record updates without a new card will cost GHC310.00
• Record updates with a replacement card will be GHC355.00
• Nationality updates will be charged at GHC365.00
