The Karaga MP and former Minister for Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has dismissed claims that the growing support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in Northern Ghana is driven by ethnic or regional loyalty.
Addressing supporters during campaign activities for Dr Bawumia in Yagaba-Kubori, Dr Amin Adam said it was wrong to suggest that Northerners back the former Vice President without careful judgement.
According to the Karaga MP, leaders and party supporters in the North are rallying behind Dr Bawumia because of his competence, integrity and leadership qualities, rather than shared background or hometown considerations.
“I want them to that we are not blind, we can see, and when we look at all of them, we see Bawumia, we see a competent man” he said.
With the presidential primaries scheduled for next month, Dr Amin Adam said the growing momentum behind Dr Bawumia in Northern Ghana demonstrates the confidence party supporters have in his vision and leadership, expressing optimism that the support will translate into a strong showing when delegates go to the polls.
