The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred its Deputy Director of Communications, Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the National Disciplinary Committee following remarks he made on social media which the party says flout its internal directives.
In a press release dated April 22, 2025, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP made it clear that Mr. Bempah’s conduct is in direct violation of standing instructions that prohibit public commentary likely to stoke internal discord.
“The comments made by Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah are considered to be in breach of our internal communication directive referenced NPP/HO/PR/2025/03/DAM, which explicitly instructs members to avoid public engagements that could jeopardize party unity,” the statement read.
While the exact nature of the offending comments was not detailed in the release, party insiders suggest they were deemed inflammatory and unaligned with the party’s push for internal cohesion ahead of key political activities.
