Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the Government Spokesperson on Security and Governance, has addressed concerns about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) response to voter register irregularities.
Dr. Danquah clarified that the NPP is not silent on the issue but has instead raised its concerns directly with the Electoral Commission (EC).
He emphasized that the party’s primary focus remains on its campaign efforts to secure victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Dr. Danquah also criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for allegedly spreading false information regarding the voter registration process.
During his interview on ABC IN THE MORNING on September 16, 2024, he expressed confidence in the credibility of the current voter register and accused the NDC of undermining the electoral process with baseless claims.
“We are okay with the representation of the mandate of the Ghanaian people,” he affirmed.
As the NPP continues to prepare for the elections, including training polling station agents and campaigning nationwide, the NDC is organizing a demonstration on September 17, 2024, to press the EC for electoral transparency.
Dr. Danquah dismissed the NDC’s actions as attempts to discredit the voter registration process, maintaining that the ruling party remains focused on ensuring a successful election outcome on December 7, 2024.
