Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutoum, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, has called for a complete overhaul of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) national leadership.
Speaking to ABC News GH, Dr. Kissi asserted that the party needs “fresh leadership” to reposition itself for the future, arguing that the current executives have lost the moral authority to lead the party forward after recent internal and national setbacks.
According to him, the resignation of the existing leadership is necessary to pave the way for an interim body that can oversee a smooth and credible national executive election.
“But when we still have the bankruptcy-type situation, and the people who were at the helm of affairs are still in charge, then it is difficult to expect real change,” Dr. Kissi remarked, suggesting that maintaining the status quo will only deepen disaffection within the party’s rank and file.
His remarks come at a time when internal conversations about restructuring and realigning the NPP ahead of future elections have intensified.
Many within the party’s grassroots have expressed similar concerns about leadership renewal and the need for a strategic shift.
Dr. Kissi’s call adds weight to the growing pressure for accountability and reform within the governing party.
