Samuel N. George, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, has warned that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will loose the upcoming elections just like Kamala Harris lost her political influence due to economic mismanagement.
According to George, the NPP’s failure to sign the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill into law reflects their disregard for the will of the Ghanaian people.
He accused the NPP of delaying the bill to appease the LGBTQ+ community, which he claims has influenced the government financially, preventing President Akufo-Addo from taking action.
In his remarks, George also took aim at the NPP caucus for their absence from parliament ahead of a crucial session, which he described as another sign of the party’s lack of commitment to governance.
He recalled how the NDC brought the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill to parliament, aiming to take a firm stand on the issue, but he criticized the NPP for stalling its progress.
The NPP’s reluctance to back the bill, according to George, is indicative of the party’s alignment with LGBTQ+ rights, which is contrary to the values of the Ghanaian people.
