Thousands of enthusiastic supporters and activists of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday thronged the streets of Sekondi-Takoradi for a health walk leading up to the party’s manifesto launch.

The event, which commenced at 6 a.m., saw participants gathering later at the Police Park in Effiakuma, where senior party figures addressed the crowd in a mini rally.

The National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Salam Mustapha, seized the opportunity to underscore the achievements of the current administration, particularly in managing the economy, comparing their performance favorably against the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

“Our records beat the NDC. Everything we have done is far better than the NDC. There is not a single thing that the NDC can use to beat us in the upcoming general election,” Mustapha declared.

In a fiery response to recent remarks by NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, regarding the refusal to sign a peace accord ahead of the general elections, Salam Mustapha issued a stern warning. He emphasized that the NPP would not be intimidated or forced out of power through any means.

“Nobody in this country can intimidate the NPP out of power. We have worked more than the NDC,” Mustapha stated emphatically.

He further stressed that the NPP would not sacrifice the upcoming election on the altar of peace, challenging the NDC to test their strength if they dared. “Look at my muscles; these muscles are natural, my muscles are full of bones. If the NDC believes they are stronger than us, they should dare in this election, and they will see that we have the men,” he asserted.

Salam Mustapha concluded his address by reaffirming the NPP’s commitment to peace and progress but reiterated the party’s resolve not to be pushed out by any tactics. He expressed confidence in the electorate, predicting that Ghanaians would choose the NPP in the upcoming election.

“We are for peace, and we want the progress of the country. But we will not be pushed out by any form of tactics. Ghanaians will make their choice and vote for the NPP,” he added, setting the tone for a fiercely contested election season.
