One person has died and several others sustained injuries following a three-vehicle crash at Matsekope Junction on the Tema–Aflao Highway.
The accident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, according to the Tema Regional Police Command.
The vehicles involved were a Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration number GN 5838-20, driven by 26-year-old Raymond Nukpetey, and two Opel Astra taxi cabs, registered GE 1269-13 and AS 9643-13.

The two taxis were being driven by 35-year-old Stephen Obitsere and 37-year-old David Kitcher, respectively.
The Toyota Corolla had one passenger on board, while each of the two taxis was carrying four passengers at the time of the crash.
The occupants of all three vehicles sustained various degrees of injuries and were subsequently conveyed to the Sege Polyclinic and Ada East District Hospital for medical attention.
However, a female passenger, believed to be about 30 years old, died on arrival at the Ada East District Hospital.
Her body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and post-mortem examination.
The Police have impounded all three vehicles for examination and are working to trace the deceased’s relatives.
The Tema Regional Police Command has meanwhile urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, avoid dangerous driving and overtaking, and strictly observe road safety regulations to help prevent avoidable crashes.
