A fatal accident on the Winneba-Mankesim Highway near Gomoa Assin claimed one life and left six others seriously injured.
The crash occurred when a Toyota Sienta with registration AS 5853-19, traveling from Mankesim to Accra, made a wrongful overtaking and collided head-on with a Toyota Land Cruiser (GR 2444-25) coming from Winneba towards Mankesim.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service confirmed that one passenger in the Toyota Sienta died instantly, while four others in the same vehicle sustained injuries.
Two occupants of the Toyota Land Cruiser were also injured in the collision.
Authorities have transported all the injured victims to St. Luke’s Catholic Hospital in Apam for medical treatment.
The Fire Service urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine further details surrounding the crash.
