One person has died while three others sustained injuries following a road traffic accident at Owura Twum, off the Kibi–Suhum Road, on Monday, January 12, 2026.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the Suhum Municipal Fire Station received a distress call at 9:43 a.m. and immediately dispatched a rescue team to the scene. A seven-member crew, led by Assistant Station Officer (ASTNO) Kissiedu, arrived at 10:15 a.m. to conduct rescue operations.
According to the GNFS, the crash involved an OPEL Vectra saloon car with registration number GT 8521-N. One female occupant was found trapped in the wreckage and was retrieved dead by the rescue team.

The remaining three occupants, one male and two females, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were assisted by firefighters and transported to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical treatment.
Eyewitnesses at the scene attributed the accident to a rear tyre burst, which reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The car somersaulted and landed upside down in nearby bushes.
In total, four casualties were recorded in the accident. The body of the deceased was handed over to the Ghana Police Service at the scene for preservation and further investigations.
Firefighters later cleared the area and restored traffic flow before leaving the scene at 11:28 a.m.
