A storey building has collapsed at Adenta New Site in the Greater Accra Region, leaving one person dead, with rescue efforts currently underway.
Eyewitnesses report that one of the victims was pronounced dead before the body was retrieved from the rubble. Two other survivors were rescued alive and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Some residents at the scene suspect the collapse may have been triggered by heavy rainfall earlier in the day, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the one-storey structure, comprising ground and first-floor apartments, gave way during the downpour, trapping several occupants beneath the debris.
The Service noted that two persons had already been rescued and taken to hospital before its National Headquarters rescue team arrived at the scene.
“Rescue operations are currently ongoing, with Fire Service rescuers working diligently to locate and rescue a woman and a child believed to be trapped in the collapsed structure,” the statement said.
Authorities say clearance of the rubble is ongoing as efforts continue to account for all persons who were inside the building at the time of the incident.
