John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer hopeful of the NDC, says the party is unmoved by Bryan Acheampong’s statement that the NPP won’t ever cede power to the NDC.
Speaking to party delegates at the Akuapem North and South Constituencies at Akropong in the Eastern region on Tuesday, Mr. Mahama said that the NDC would not downplay the role of God in the 2024 elections, despite the NPP’s stance.
He claimed that God had already predetermined the results of the 2024 elections and that nothing anyone could do would change that.
“Don’t pay attention to some of the things being said by some people, because it is God’s plan, I go to Church and I have faith that when I kneel and pray, God speaks to me sometimes. God told me that it is our time, and He has already given us the power”.
“When God speaks, no one can change it so let’s continue to pray and believe in Ghanaians that whatever God has put in place will come to pass.”
The former president has started his three-day campaign tour in the Eastern Region. He spoke with Okere branch executives and delegates while on the tour.
The former president also urged party members to run a clean campaign and support the eventual winner because winning he 2024 election is the main goal.
In the meantime, the National Democratic Congress’ Eastern Regional Executives have endorsed the former president in advance of the party’s parliamentary and presidential contests.
