Ghana’s online passport application portal has been temporarily taken offline following technical challenges, disrupting access to the service for prospective applicants.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, said users may currently be unable to access the passport application website, passport.mfa.gov.gh.

According to the Ministry, its technical team is working in collaboration with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) to resolve the problem and restore the platform as soon as possible.
The Ministry, however, has not provided details on the specific nature of the technical difficulties or indicated when the portal is expected to become operational again.
The disruption affects applicants who rely on the online platform to initiate and manage their passport applications, potentially delaying access to related services.
The Ministry apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage and assured the public that further communication would be issued once the system has been restored.
Applicants who are currently unable to access the portal have been advised to await further updates from the Ministry instead of repeatedly attempting to submit applications while efforts to resolve the technical problem continue.
