The 3rd National vice chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Masawudu Buga has attributed the party’s recent electoral defeat to acts of “planned hooliganism” orchestrated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in NPP strongholds.
Speaking in an interview with ABC News on the back of NDC’s rejection of the re-collated parliamentary results which saw the NPP win seven out of the nine disputed parliamentary seats, the Vice Chair accused the NDC of employing disruptive tactics that undermined the electoral process in areas traditionally dominated by the NPP.
According to him, these actions contributed significantly to voter turnout, suppression, and ultimately the party’s poor performance at the just ended polls.
“It is clear out there, those 419 declarations and false declaration by some of the EC Officials that the NDC hooligans have placed fear and panic and attack on EC to declare…,” he said.
