The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation following a tragic accident involving a police Yutong bus and a motorcyclist at the Tesano Zongo traffic intersection in Accra.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, when a police bus with registration number GP 417 collided with a Royal motorbike, whose registration number remains unknown.
In a statement, the police confirmed that the motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical care but was declared dead upon arrival.
Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has personally reached out to the family of the deceased to convey his condolences on behalf of the Ghana Police Service.
The IGP assured the family of a “comprehensive investigation” into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
The police statement emphasized that the investigation aims to bring clarity to the incident and uphold accountability in the wake of the tragic event.
