The Ghana Police Service has addressed concerns over an incident involving a broken seal on a bag of electoral materials intended for the upcoming 2024 elections.

The bag was discovered to have a broken seal during the packing and unpacking process at the distribution point in Koforidua.

According to the police, the broken seal was not the result of any malicious intent but rather an accidental occurrence during the handling of the materials.

The police further assured the public that there was no tampering with the contents of the bag, confirming that the materials remained intact.

The incident was promptly addressed and resolved by the relevant authorities.

The statement also reassured the public that the Electoral Commission and representatives from political parties, who witnessed the incident, have confirmed that the contents of the bag were secure.

The police emphasized that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the integrity of the electoral materials ahead of the December 7 elections.
