President Nana Akufo-Addo has been conferred with the prestigious title of Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur by French President Emmanuel Macron.
This honour, awarded during an official state visit to France, acknowledges President Akufo-Addo’s significant contributions to advancing diplomacy, democratic governance, and international cooperation.
The Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur is among the highest distinctions within France’s Légion d’Honneur, an esteemed order of merit established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802.
Reserved for individuals who have exhibited exceptional service to France and the global community, the award spans achievements in public service, international diplomacy, arts, sciences, and humanitarian work.
