Member of the New Patriotic Party’s Communications Team, Manasseh Atta Boahene, has criticized the government’s proposal to rename the Kotoka International Airport.
Speaking on the matter on ABC In The Morning, Mr. Boahene emphasized that Ghana’s aviation system requires serious infrastructural improvements rather than renaming the country’s primary international gateway.
“This is a misguided government intention and a waste of resources,” he said. “Our aviation system needs infrastructure upgrades and not changing of names to suit political interest.”
The comments come amid government plans to rename Kotoka International Airport, a move that has already sparked debates across the political divide.
Critics like Manasseh Atta Boahene argue that the focus should instead be on modernizing facilities, improving passenger experiences, and ensuring safety standards, rather than on politically motivated rebranding.
