Some residents in the Upper West regional capital,Wa, have issued a stark warning to politicians to take immediate action to halt the killings of innocent citizens, or face a ban on campaigning in the area. This ultimatum follows the discovery of yet another murder victim on Monday, July 15, 2024.
The latest victim, a man believed to be in his late thirties and working as a driver’s mate, was found murdered near the truck he had accompanied to unload goods at a local warehouse. This incident has intensified the community’s fears and frustrations, prompting calls for swift and decisive intervention.
Speaking to reporters, several residents expressed their concerns, stating that they are now living in a state of constant fear due to the relentless string of murders.
The latest killing brings to 14, the number of victims who have been brutally murdered by a suspected syndicate that has been operating in the Wa town since 2022.
