President John Mahama has appointed Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as the Acting Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA).
A seasoned electronic communications engineer, Rev. Ing. Fianko boasts over two decades of expertise in radio frequency spectrum management, telecom regulation, policy formulation, and ICT research.
Since joining the NCA as a National Service Person in 2004, Rev. Ing. Fianko has risen through the ranks, becoming Director of the Engineering Division in 2024.
His achievements include spearheading Ghana’s transition from analogue to digital broadcasting and contributing to global telecommunications standards through roles in organizations like the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
With his extensive technical expertise and leadership experience, Rev. Ing. Fianko is poised to lead Ghana’s communications sector into a transformative era.
He succeeds Dr. Joe Anokye in the role.
