Security analyst Richard Kumador has urged voters to cast their ballots early during Ghana’s major elections to help identify and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
Speaking on ABC Prime, Kumador emphasized that early voting could prevent voter displacement and allow sufficient time to rectify challenges such as missing names on the register or other administrative hiccups.
“Should there be voter displacement or problems, they will have the opportunity of rectifying it, rather than waiting to appear somewhere around 3 pm or 5 pm to vote,” Kumador said.
He also highlighted the importance of building public confidence in the electoral process to boost voter turnout, urging social media platforms to promote positive narratives as the elections approach.
Expressing confidence in Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare, Kumador praised the IGP’s plans for election security, calling it a “beautiful blueprint.”
However, he noted that the true test would come on election day when the strategies are implemented. Kumador also supported calls for measures to ensure accountability and transparency during the election period.
