In a heartfelt reflection, the Member of Parliament for Salaga–South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, shared a deeply personal memory as part of her tribute to the late Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, illustrating how the smallest moments often reveal the truest character of a person.

Recalling an encounter in 2012 at a Gonja Land Youth Association gathering, she narrated how the late statesman arrived in a striking traditional smock that immediately caught her attention.

The craftsmanship and elegance of the attire were so remarkable that she paused mid-conversation to admire it, expressing a desire to have one made for her husband. With his characteristic warmth and humor, Hon. Braimah readily promised to commission one.

Though the smock never arrived, the promise itself became a cherished and recurring joke between them. Each subsequent meeting was marked by lighthearted reminders and his familiar, hearty laughter—an enduring symbol of his joyful and personable nature.

Reflecting on his passing, Hon. Ibrahimah noted that grief often lies not only in the loss of a person but in the absence of shared moments and unfinished conversations. The inability to revisit such simple yet meaningful exchanges now weighs heavily, underscoring the depth of the loss.

She emphasized that beyond the humor of the story, the smock represented something far more profound—identity. According to her, Hon. Braimah wore his heritage with pride and authenticity, never conforming to external expectations. In a political environment where appearances can sometimes overshadow substance, he remained firmly grounded in his roots. His attire was not merely traditional clothing but a bold declaration of who he was.

Extending her condolences, Hon. Ibrahimah acknowledged the private grief of the late leader’s family, reminding the public that behind every public figure is a deeply personal life. She urged the community to continue offering support and solidarity to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Addressing the youth of Salaga–South and the Savannah Region, she called for a legacy defined not just by words but by action. She encouraged them to uphold the values and standards exemplified by the late Hon. Braimah, stressing that true tribute lies in the continuation of integrity, conviction, and respectful leadership.
