Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today Monday, January 20, resume vetting following its constitutional mandate to assess the qualifications and suitability of individuals selected to lead various ministries.

The vetting sessions will take place in Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 of the New Administration Block and are expected to begin at 8:30 am.

The Appointments Committee, chaired by Mr Bernard Ahiafor, has already vetted three nominees in prior sessions: Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Minister-Designate for Finance; Mr John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister-Designate for Energy; and Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Minister-Designate for Justice.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the vetting process will feature Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister-Designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, the Minister-Designate for Gender, Children, and Social Protection; and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister-Designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry.

The Committee aims to conclude the vetting of all nominees by Monday, January 27, 2025.
