The management of celebrated Dancehall star Shatta Wale has clarified that the musician was not forcefully picked up by authorities but rather voluntarily submitted himself to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to assist with ongoing investigations.
According to a statement issued Wednesday evening by his manager, Sammy Baah Flex, Shatta Wale walked into EOCO offices earlier in the day with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to honour an invitation by the state agency.
The statement explained that the investigations relate to tax obligations on Shatta Wale’s luxury yellow Lamborghini, which has attracted public attention since its purchase.
Management stressed that the artiste’s legal team is fully engaged with the authorities and is taking steps to ensure his rights are protected while working to secure his release.
“We urge the SM Family and all well-wishers to remain calm and avoid speculation. We have the utmost confidence in the judicial process,” the management wrote on X.
They further revealed that Shatta Wale and his legal representatives are expected to return to EOCO offices tomorrow morning to continue discussions.
