The National Communications Authority in a release this morning has indicated that its SMP classification is not intended to stifle MTNs operations.
This according to the release is “rather to ensure a level playing field in the market and protect consumer choice.”
On related developments, consumers have been protesting against data price increase and decrease in longevity of purchased data.
Many especially this weekend expressed their concerns on social platforms as well as calling in interviews.
Ato Boateng, a concerned citizen complained, ‘the data is very expensive, we can’t afford it and the system also isn’t helping.’
